The Dark Side of YouTube
First, he wants to talk about YouTube about a business and platform. YouTube has made his dreams come true, and he can’t believe he’s been this fortunate. As amazing as it is, there’s a dark side that he was not aware of when he started. The more popular he gets, the darker and scarier it gets.
Alpha’s somewhat okay with the negative comments, although they hurt. Criticism is never easy, especially things you were never aware of. People can zero in on flaws and perceived weaknesses. It sucks – we’re human. The other side is the crazy people. There are literally crazy people who have created scary situations for Alpha which have caused him to protect himself and his home.
Alpha’s Conscious Decision
The joy out-shadows the precautions. But when Alpha first started, he made a conscious decision not to include his wife because he was opening himself up (not her) to the criticism. She didn’t sign up for this – she’s private. He’s been scared to introduce her to the world in this medium. He keeps this aspect of his life for himself even though he shares an unbelievable amount otherwise. He’s very vulnerable.
If they had kids, which they don’t, he wouldn’t put his kids on YouTube either. It’s dangerous. Content is king, and some people share everything on YouTube. Ultimately, he wants to protect her so she’s not featured. How can you not want to protect your loved ones? Alpha thanks you for your understanding and support.
